Sheffield Faculty

Professor Ian Rennie
Ian was the former Professor of Ophthalmology and Head of the Academic Unit of Ophthalmology and Orthoptics at the University of Sheffield. He is now a part time Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield.
Ian’s clinical and research interests are in the areas of ocular oncology and inflammatory eye disease.

Mr Paul Rundle
Paul is a Consultant Ocular Oncologist and Clinical Lead for Ocular Oncology in Sheffield.
His special interest in the use of photodynamic therapy for small melanomas.

Mr Sachin Salvi
Sachin is a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in Ocular Oncology and Adnexal surgery at Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, and is the MDT and research lead at the National Sheffield Ocular Oncology Service.
His interests include optic nerve sheath fenestration surgery, orbital decompression surgery for thyroid eye disease, orbital tumours and post traumatic orbital reconstruction.

Dr Hardeep Singh Mudhar
Hardeep is an eye pathologist in Sheffield, and was previously honorary consultant eye pathologist at the Institute of Ophthalmology London.
He was a visiting eye pathology professor to Wills Eye Hospital in 2016 and is on the World Health Organization (WHO) panel for the classification of eye tumours.
Ms Zanna Currie
Zanna is an Oculoplastic surgeon in Sheffield.
She has a particular interest in teaching and training, in association with the Microsurgical Skills faculty of the Royal College, the Training the Trainers Faculty and as Regional Educational Advisor.
Her particular oculoplastic interests are socket and prosthetic work and lacrimal surgery both paediatric and adult
Ms Jennifer Tan
Jennifer is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in Sheffield, and has an interest in peri-ocular tumour work.
Professor Sarah Danson
Sarah is a Professor in Medical Oncology at the University of Sheffield and Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology at Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield.
Sarah’s interests are in melanoma, lung cancer and the early clinical assessment of new anticancer agents. Sarah is also the NIHR National Speciality Lead for Cancer: Early phase trials and Deputy Director of the Weston Park Cancer Centre.
Dr Shobha Silva
Shobha is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield.
Her interests include melanoma (cutaneous and ocular) and breast cancer.
Dr Andrew Martin
Andy completed his Neuroradiology Fellowship in Sheffield and now works as a Consultant Neuroradiologist at The Royal Hallamshire Hospital. He has a specialist interest in neuro-oncology, ophthalmology, spinal and dementia imaging  as well as spinal and orbital intervention.

Invited International Speaker

Arun D. Singh MD
Arun is the Director of Ophthalmic Oncology at the Cole Eye Institute, Cleveland Clinic. He has published more than 400 articles and edited a major text book.
He is currently editor in chief of Ophthalmic Oncology and Pathology.

National Faculty

Professor Geoffrey Rose
Geoffrey is the senior consultant at Moorfields Eye Hospital and is also Senior NIHR Research Fellow at the Institute of Ophthalmology.
He is Past-President of both the British Oculo-Plastic Surgical Society and the European Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
Mr Manoj Parulekar
Manoj is an ophthalmologist at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and the Oxford Eye Hospital. He is ophthalmic surgeon to the Birmingham Retinoblastoma Unit which provides a UK national service for paediatric ocular oncology.
His clinical practice also includes paediatric and adult strabismus, and most aspects of paediatric eye disorders.
Professor Mandeep Sagoo
Mandeep is Professor of Ophthalmology and Ocular Oncology at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with subspecialist interest in adult and paediatric eye tumours at the London Ocular Oncology Service at Moorfields Eye Hospital and St. Bartholomew’s Hospital and the London Retinoblastoma Service at Royal London Hospital.
Miss Victoria Cohen
Victoria is Clinical Lead for the London Ocular Oncology Service, Consultant Ocular Oncologist for Moorfields Eye Hospital, St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals and President of the International Society of Ocular Oncology.
Professor Heinrich Heimann
Heinrich is a consultant at St Paul’s Eye Unit at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
He is also Honorary Professor at the Liverpool University and the Free University Berlin, Germany.
His special interests are ocular oncology, medical and surgical retina.
Dr Paul Cauchi
Paul is a Consultant Ophthalmologist working in Glasgow, with interests in oculoplastics, orbit, lacrimal, thyroid eye disease and ocular oncology.
He leads The Scottish Ocular Oncology Service, which is nationally funded and commissioned by The Scottish Government.
Mr John Bladen
John is a Consultant Oculoplastic Surgeon working at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
He is currently undertaking a prospective UK-wide incidence study of eyelid melanoma including 5-year outcome measures.
Mrs Katya Tambe
Katya is an adult and paediatric oculoplastic consultant at the Nottingham University Teaching Hospitals. She has a keen interest in paediatric oculoplastics, facial nerve palsy and peri-ocular skin cancer management and reconstructions.
